The piece is inspired by internet “memes”.
"Internet meme: is a concept that spreads from person to person via the Internet The word meme was coined by Richard Dawkins in his 1976 book The Selfish Gene, as an attempt to explain the way cultural information spreads. Internet memes are a subset of this, specific to the culture and environment of the Internet. Fads and sensations tend to grow rapidly on the Internet, because the instant communication facilitates word of mouth transmission". [Wikipedia]
I bought a false lithograph print on Ebay of Suite Vollard by Pablo Picasso advertised as an authentic fine art print with a certificate of authenticity. I edited it scanning the lithograph, modifying it on the computer, adding more layers of drawing in the same dislocated sense of the lithograph and printing it again over the original physical work.
